Being a professional Musician I am frequently asked the question, "What is the best acoustic Guitar for beginners?" And it is a crucial question, because choosing the wrong instrument folks can set you back months, if not years.

On this site I am going to point you directly towards just a small number of products which I have personally approved and tested for my friends and relatives. However, please read the rest of this short article before you look at my reviews and recommendations, which you will find in the menus to the right of this page .

My Little Story

I was just 8 years old when my elder brother (who was already an accomplished musician) helped me get started. Unfortunately his Guitar (an old Hofner Blonde) was nearly as big as me and as a result I found it very difficult to master quickly.

Now I was a determined pupil, but it took me some time to get to grips with that beast. The “action” was really heavy and my fingers suffered as a result.

You might hear the word “action” referred to when talking in guitar circles. The action is generally determined by the gap between the strings and the fret board (The stem of the guitar where the chords are formed). With an acoustic Guitar the action is generally harder on the fingers than say a solid electric guitar. Consequently it takes a little time for the tips of your fingers to adjust and harden. The point is, you really don’t want to make the mistake of purchasing an instrument with poor action as this is going to make the learning task a nightmare.

Right now, there are literally thousands of acoustic guitars on the market. These range from low cost garbage right through to high end handmade precision instruments. The best acoustic guitar for beginners, should possess all of the qualities required to make your learning process as painless and enjoyable as possible. It will be moderately priced yet affordable.

To this end , I have purposely kept this review site small, easy to navigate and focusing only on the important qualities required to make your first Acoustic Guitar experience a simple and successful one.
